@ImpendingGhost 2:55 for the first one at least and im pretty sure its in there a couple of times. I get the roar does that in mh as well, but the recovery aftr the 3/4 health loss makes the roar time feel weird

The down time between getting smacked around and losing 3/4 of your health to the movement lock from a roar... doesnt seem like the punishment fits tbh. Im sure that comes down to the fast paced nature of the combat but seems a little weird

Neat detail that some missed is some of your characters or monsters attacks affect the environment. Like the grass being cut, or when the monster is in its other phase the transformation destroys the ground and keeps it like that
So from what I saw the building aspect is done by pressing certain button combinations while holding down the trigger. Interesting it will allow for the fast paced building combat. Very eager to see what you can build and if you can get different buildings as you advance.

Yeah it’s a great mechanic also while on expeditions you can build zip lines, forges and other things too
@Hua RTS games invented building in games. The game Starhawk also had a building mechanic as well. I'm sure there are even more games pre-dating Fortnite that had it as well.

wow gameplay actually looks fun compared to previous videos ive seen last year. i hope theres a lot of cutomization in this game. that jenga or whatever that gimmick is called looks very interesting
100% snagging this hands down. I love that you can build things. I am a huge Monster Hunster fan and this adds a whole new layer of fun that I've been looking for.

The game looks great but I'm really hoping it'll offer some challenge. I only saw one of the players take any big chunk of damage, the cannon guy took absolutely zero damage, and it looked like all the monster's abilities had very lenient dodge timings.
Team ninja games always have extremely hard hard bosses
The first claw dude got hit twice and was below 20% hp so either you dont know what dodging means or didnt watched it properly

Great gameplay so far! As a hammer main in monster hunter games, none of the weapons as of yet speak to me which makes me a bit worried, but I'm hoping there's just a few more they're holding out on showing!

However, I'm so bad at it that I can't really tell how the weapons perform.
By the way, in the English version, the hammer is called "maul".

Man, I really really wished this game was finished and released last summer to fall. There was such a dry spell. Now everyone is releasing hard hitters in spring, and my wallet and time can't handle it. 😱 Especially with a game like this, that is a time sink.
nah it would have drowned, because mhr released its big expansion right in summer. They did well releasing the game now, because all of the MonHun Fans are yearing for more, after they got their content spoonfed
You can play it any time. Don’t have to play it at release. I didn’t play monster Hunter world until at least a year after release.

This gameplay looks great. My only question is how the overworld will look. Will it be completely hub based like Monster Hunter or will you be able to walk out of the main village and into the world like in Toukiden 2?
The world will be massive open world split into 4 regions each based on 1 of the 4 seasons + an endgame zone as a 5th area
There will be a town/gathering hub but a majority of your time and progression will be in the open world.

If quests work like Toukiden which this team did previously. You can revive, by standing near a fallen player and filling a meter that goes down over time. If the meter would hit zero that player carts. Though every time that player goes down the meter will drain faster and faster until you need multiple players filling the meter just to get them up.
That sword at the end was amazing it looked like it could be swapped between two smaller swords and maybe a halberd and back into the greatsword
it can turn into a shuriken for some long range dmg as well.

It’s a staff. Looks like it was splitting into batons/tonfas and then turning into a great sword as well.

@近藤 There is a trial for EA Play subscribers, but ofc people want a proper demo.
They should have already released one in december.
EA Originals games always get a demo after launch, except for EAplay, so I'm sure this game will also get a public demo after launch.
This might legit be a day 1 purchase. If this game can be very accessible and easy to understand, it’ll have somewhat an advantage over monster hunter because MAN is monster hunter hard to get into with how complex it is.
I get so many Toukiden vibes from this, which is great! Can't wait for this game
This game is looking so badass. If this is of or around the same quality as MH but faster I will love it.
Hard to tell without actually playing it but seems like it's got similar pacing to rise, lots of momentum and snappy dodges
As for game speed, probably faster than MH.
As for the quality, EA Originals is fully supporting it, so I'm sure the quality is high!
In fact, "It Takes Two" won the Game of the Year 2021 award from the studio supported by EA Originals.
So I think you can expect a lot from it.
Katakuri Staff is already an instant fav that im gonna try maining first when i play this on release lol.

karakuri* It reminds me so much of the gs wep from mh which is my favorite wep class from that franchise. And being able to switch between a staff and a colossal sword in wh with the karakuri staff is just icing on the cake! Speed and power all in one 😊

@Hua to me, it’s the coloration, specifically of its back, and those two tendrils look like Shara Ishvalda’s wing fingers.
I don't see it... It's a giant tiger that looks nothing like Shara and has an entirely different moveset...
I thought he looked more like a Ancient China version of Magnamalo.

I really hope this can stand out from MH gameplay wise, since it looks like it forgoes the Toukiden style for a traditional MH vibe with its weapons, movement and speed.

Really enjoying the hybrid weapons, all the benefits of a great sword with almost no risk.
And I'm personally not a fan of lazers, I know shocking.
Would of loved to see a barrage of missiles coming out of the cannon instead, especially arced for a rain of hellfire.

finally a monster hunting game that can actually compete with monster hunter. looks fun but still pretty apprehensive since its being handled by EA and all

Koei Tecmo is the developer, the same people who made the Nioh games.
It's not EA, it's EA Originals.
It's the same label as the Game of the Year "It Takes Two", so don't worry, EA is not involved in the development at all.
The rest is set to receive several free updates and free DLC.

It would be nice to see the enemy's HP. Other than that, it's a solid game, very nice combat, not too fast. The art work is amazing.

I've noticed:
No stamina locks. Seems like we'd be able to dodge freely and get the full extent of each battle we come across. I love the fighting style of each; being a ranged combatant, easily say the cannon my go to but with wonder if there are any "magic" or casters to choose from. A simple bow? The battles are buggy or laggy. I cannot wait to be apart of this
I have stamina.
The yellow gauge next to your character is your stamina gauge.
However, it is hard to decrease and recovers quickly, so I don't think you'll have to worry about it that much.
PLEASE give us a demo guys! This could be huge but it NEEDS a demo to be a 70€ mh competitor!

This looks great . I want you guys to keep supporting the game , with new areas weapons, upgades and monsters for years to come . Thats how you can make wildhearts a worthy monster hunter competitor . Dont think about releasing another wild hearts. Expand this game itself in everyway possible .
We don't know if new weapons will be added to the game, but the developer, Omega Force, has announced plans to release a free update and some free DLC after the game's release.

Looks great so far! Though many of the names don't fit an animal at all like "Golden Tempest"? I feel like there is a personality missing in these names in contrast to the monsters in Monster Hunter
it's basically monster hunter but i actually like that this game looks a bit different
Monster Hunter's monsters are more like actual animals, with proper biology and ecology.
Wild Hearts' monsters are more like mythological creatures, and as such aren't treated like normal animals.
I'm impressed, I wonder how long it will be

If it's like MH, i can bet this is the LR version and there will be at least a HR version of this monster.
Visually looks cool, I just hope it leans more towards monster hunter than toukiden. I liked toukiden, but it never really got challenging. It was interesting from a lore perspective, which kept me going, but it was dynasty warriors level of simple (makes sense given the publisher).

I skipped out on MH Rise in favor of this game as to not get burnt out from playing two hunting monster games. Was a little worried I made the wrong choice but after seeing this video, I think I'll finally place my pre-order. I'm sold.
Looks like monster hunter and tokiden had a baby lol 😆 really would of like to see monster parts breaking as damage is being dealt but looks promising other then that 😀

It’s hard to get since Monster Hunter Rise has now come out for Series X and PS5. This game is coming out a month later, I really want to try this game out and I’m interested on fully experience this game. This new franchise is now competing with Capcom’s Monster Hunter and I don’t mind it.
What makes this game different from Series X and PS5 Rise is that this game can be played cross play on PS5, Series X, and PC, allowing you to enjoy the game with many other players around the world!
It will change your gaming life to something more wonderful!

EA games may come with an demo after launch, with the exception of EAplay, which is a subscriber.
UNRAVEL 1&2, also by EA Originals, had an demo after launch, so I don't think you need to worry about it.
What do you mean finally? They have released enough gameplay plus a preview. This got announced in late September....
The more I see of this game the more impressed I am. This looks seriously cool. I love the art style and the combat look intense and challenging. I've tried Monster Hunter games before and they always felt so weird and clunky. This looks much more fluid.

All weapons are looks fun and as far I can tell dual blades looking similar to the Kusarigama in Toukiden which was my main Wep so hands down I am day 1 player ⚔️🐉✴️
