Kobe Bryant is right that super teams are good for competition - Max Kellerman | First Take

  • Max Kellerman agrees with Kobe Bryant that super teams make for good competition in the NBA. Stephen A. Smith does not see anything wrong with super teams, but dominant teams like the Golden State Warriors since Kevin Durant was signed create too much of an imbalance.

This is a lie, when KD joined that's when GSW became a superteam.
Who was on lebrons level before KD got there? That's right, it's LeBron who had a superteam and needed leagues help to beat them.

Stop with mixed up timelines. When Kobe was considering Chicago and Denver, that was when he and Shaq couldn’t be on the same team anymore. When they pulled off the Gasol heist, he was considering the Knicks. But that was more so the challenge of playing in another big ass market. #Mamba4life

Sick and tired of Max saying KD joined a 73 win team.
If KD joined a 73 win team then they should be winning 70+ games every single season and should’ve already won 74 games.
And bringing up Rodman joining TheBulls... the guy wasn’t in his prime now more like he was as a member for Detroit’s Bad Boy Piston’s. Only reason why TheBulls brought Rodman to the team was for two reason and two reason only, rebounds and getting under the skin of the opposition and whoever he is guarding.

Kobe Bryant is not right to me is is it if it's only a few super teams it's not fair so what do the other team supposed to do when you got a super team keep losing if you got a super team all the teams won a Super team how do that f****** look you got a super team and you playing against the team they don't have a super team it's just like seeing I got to rich white boys lunch and I got to go to and I got to go to school with a poor black man while on lunch now we good you just like saying I got Kobe Bryant garage the other team got and I look you in your eyes but your dumbass say that's fair I seen fair to you I glue a chuckle up garage are you going to Kobe Bryant garage can you say it's fair I don't think it's fair or not one bit Lebron James been that way for the longest two or three Superstars every time you play it to a team that don't have no superstars look you in your eyes so you see that's where you just seem like to me everybody want LeBron James the whole up would be the biggest superstar that they ever find no matter what you all sitting around crying like losing you so important how many teams win what at all the rest he's only one winner team and all the rest of lose no matter what they do no matter what they failures at that time yours are they at that time

Wow I'm so surprised Will Cain actually admitted about Kobe what most people are not. He is unlikeable by the media members who were the bullied white boys in their childhood that they only like nice community guys, thats why they love Lebron. He is the last of a breed who didnt give a damn about likeability and was only focused on one thing and that is delivering championships. Now that he's gone people appreciate him.. At least Will Cain admitted it, I'll give him props

Kobe is the least to talk and not just him Kobe happen to have landed in one of the best franchises in one of the best towns as far as basketball and sports and just a lot of things that happens in Los Angeles just as if you go to New York and the Lakers were kind of already at the successful with Shaquille O'Neal and Eddie Jones so it's no comparison the plane in Oklahoma City or Cleveland so Kobe has nothing to say on this unless he just supports people and players in their specific scenarios because Kobe did not go through with Allen Iverson went through with Tracy McGrady went through what Vince Carter went through I can go down the list

So for all you laker fans who have dogged LeBron about not taking the Lakers to the playoffs take this video to heart. He had no help but a bunch of young pups. Young players don't win championships with one vet. But guess what? For the first year here LeBron has us in 4th place until the injury bug hit us. If you keep downing the top player in the NBA for the last 14 plus years no other free agent will come here because the Lakers fans are too judgemental to their own new players.

So in other words for the media, its NOT okay for the Warriors to add a star(KD) to a team that they built and not bought (because they keep their boo thang Lebron from winning championships.) But it IS okay for their so called best player in the world (Lebron) to stack the deck and manufacture and play with multiple all stars?!? Lol And to Max Kellerman, he doesn't even consider KD a top 5 player but yet him playing with the Warriors makes them a super duper unfair team?!!? Just wow. Smh

It's impossible for each team to have 2 stars. There's 30 teams. That would be 60 "star" players. There aren't that many star players in the league. The reality is only about 4 to 5 players are truly super star players. There's another 10 to 15 that are "star" players or impact players. The NBA won't ever have the parity people say they want. The reality is there will be 4 to 5 teams with a legit shot at winning the title. And of that 2 will be truly favored. The rest of the teams are there provide entertainment as they get beaten by those 4 or 5 teams. It's always been that way.

The 80's was the Lakers, Celtics, Piston, and 76ers. The 90's was the Bulls, Rockets, Pacers, and Jazz. The first decade of the 2000's was the Lakers, Spurs, with a few teams sprinkled in. The 2010's is the Spurs, Warriors, and LeBron's eastern conference teams. The league has never had parity in the modern era.

Dennis Rodman was age 34 through 36 in his 3 years with the bulls and wasn't even a full-time starter in 1998 with the Bulls. Stop trying to make it seem like Chicago had a big 3 they didn't. The warriors didn't have a super team they had one Super Star in Steph Curry, and Klay and Draymond became All-Stars because of how compatible their game was to his. Like Kris Middleton getting an all-star nod playing next to Giannis. Or how Moe Williams became an all-star playing with Lebron. They became a Super team after KD cam because you had two individual Super Stars in Steph and KD playing together.

Super Teams are the BEST thing to happen to the league in a long time. While 2-3 teams are battling for rings, EVERY team is acquiring stars in the making, wait until super teams are done. NBA will be a battlefield.

Of course super teams are good for competition. Like in any competitive system, when one player emerges as dominant, that forces the other players to stop up their game. Not only is it good for competition, it's good for the quality of the product.
