Our democrat electors are behaving like children fighting for the largrest piece of cake. RBG has spent her strength standing fast to give us all some hope. You democrats are behaving like the MAGA gang. You wanted the job, so do it. This self promoting pig fest shows the nation that you think that you are going to elect the next president. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Is that where you think we want to go? If you do, then you should be kicked out of any responsible position with the Donald.

I swear to god every Democrat that currently isn’t in the most recognizable top 5 (Sanders, Warren, Harris, Buttigieg, O’Rourke) is only there to get their name in for next time. It’s one big marketing move.

On De Blazio's amazing reveal, it looks like New York gave him a 76% saying "do not run" to mean; We've got Sen. Alexandria Ocassio-Cortez asking some very real questions of accountability of the Republican Party and Mitch McConnell, please, sit down and don't distract us... ...the nation polled at 0% says "shut-up, we've heard enough from your kind."

The way the democratic party is going about this election is making me think they're intentionally flooding the field. They're fracturing the party vote every time one of these clowns tries to join the race, seeding their own discord.

The primary is going to be fucking hell, and a lot of people are going to be pissed about their pick not getting the nomination. Can the party come together on the nomination? Empirical evidence says "fuck no," as we saw in 2016.

@Mohammad Khan another point that is useful is that these leadership campigns usually only last a few months, local party elections vote to send delegates to party convention. Leader is chosen in a series of elimination votes until one has an majority delegate votes. Convention is usually just 2 or 3 days. We have an election coming this year. all the parties have their leaders in place. Once the election call is made the national campaign will run less than 60 days (probably) the last electiom was the longest ever at i think 53 days and people were complaining that was too long. We spend an little less time in election cycle hijinks and more time in putting forth party platforms for the electorate to criticize.

@Brad Griffin There isn't 26, that is just the people important enough for the media to mention. There are hundreds of declared candidates already. We're really early in the process. We have over 6 months before primary voting starts. Most voters won't be paying attention during the summer. Candidates will still be declaring in September. People are more interested than normal, so things are off to a very early start, but it is still early.
It is so early, most of these candidates don't have even a single declared policy.

@Begob I understand your point. However, doesn't having 26 (I think that's the latest tally) Democrats vying for the top job make the Party itself a little fragmented? I guess I don't understand US Politics real well. This just doesn't happen in Australia because of our electoral commission rules. There is one leader for each Party. If the Party gets elected, that leader becomes the Prime Minister. Of course, we do have internal Party spills throughout their term and as you may have noticed, we've had I think 3 different Prime Ministers from the one Party in the past 3 years due to internal overthrows (by internal Party vote of course). Which means we are not guaranteed to have the Leader of the Party we vote for being in power for their entire 3-year term.

@main mast That's what happened to the republicans, and that explains the situation we are in now. Learn from the past's mistakes.

Pelosi is the leader. And a fish rots from the head down. Why not just have a truly democratic party with no super-delegates?

NYC's worse ever clown is now running for President. I guess the Democrats needed someone to drive the bus load of them off the cliff, like he's done for NYC. Keep it up Liberals as it's a great thing to watch you self-destruct and loose 2020 before the race even begins.

The idea of so many candidates is for security purposes. It makes targeting more difficult and casts a bigger net while fishing for foreign interference.
